When you hear the ringing sounds in your hear because of tinnitus, does it cause pain to your ears or not?

Its really hard to explain. I think the louder the ringing in your ears it tends to hurt.

For me, when I hear ringing loud sounds it really hurts me a lot. I guess pain depends on the volume of those ringing sounds that you hear.

Well pain can be felt differently by each and everyone of us. We have our individual pain tolerance and pain thresholds.

So... It does hurt? I'm hearing impaired as well but I do not have tinnitus, thank god. But still I'm curious. I mean how about those people who does not have money to go to hospitals. Is tinnitus a common illness?

Tinnitus can be a common illness but I don't think that every hard hearing person has one.

Yes, not every hearing-impaired person has one. Its just like a sub-category of a hearing illness. And besides it can be developed in various ways.

I strongly agree with you Kheyci. There was this one time I had a friend that has hard hearing, and eventually he had developed tinnitus.

Tinnitus can be a symptom towards another illness or it can be an effect from an illness you already had acquired.

For me it does not cause physical pain. BUT it's really annoying. Sometimes it's hard for me to relax because of the ringing. I also have Vertigo and migraines that accompany the ringing.

Bernard, do you also get nausia? I sometimes get vomiting too. I was finally diagnosed with Meniere's disease. I guess it's fairly rare so that's why it took the doctor a while to put it all together.
