Are they at risk for losing their hearing? Share some thoughts about a general factory worker who’s exposed to noise pollution. Please do share your tips and advices so those workers will detect hearing loss earlier.

If you are working on a factory where loud noises can be heard, you need to have ear muffs or ear plugs. Noise more than 80db can be deafening. If you hear a ringing noise in your ear, you might need to see your doctor, if left un check, it will lead to deafness.

Yes, it is possible for factory worker to have hearing problems because of their working environment. But that can only be possible due to the companies poor or lack of care services for their workers. These includes ear plugs or muffs and etc.

At first prevention is better than cure, maybe the workers can consult first the factory doctor on what kind of gadgets that must be used in order to prevent hearing loss.

I agree with you on this, It's the responsibility of the employer to provide such gadgets or services to the factory workers. Does anyone here whose family members or friends work in a factory and loss their hearing due to the noise of it?

Indeed. Provision of protective gadgets is the responsibility of the employer. They know that their employees are risk for this disability therefore they must be responsible enough for the benefit of their employees. And as employees, they must be aware of their rights to ask for this gears.

It depends what type of factory they are working. But if you are experiencing some ringing in the ears and sudden hearing loss you should always consult your doctor immediately.

There are many poor companies who are actually taking advantage to those construction workers who are in need of money. Instead of giving them proper equipments for work, they do not just so they can subsidize the cost.

I totally agree with you Kim. They tend to take advantage of the workers and in return their workers experience problems that are seriously ill taken by the owners of these companies.
