I`m looking for some information about an area used to program(adjust) my Starkey S series hearing aids. I`ve been trying to get these aids adjusted for 8 months now. Lately my dispenser has been changing settings in the Noise Mgmt. area called Features. There are 5 categories , Quiet, Wind , Machine Noise , Speech in Noise , Noise. They make a lot of difference and if I knew exactly what their individual function or purpose was it would help me to be able to explain more of what I need to my dispenser so he could make better adjustments for my loss. If anyone is familiar with the program and can help I sure would appreciate it.
Thank You,
Alan.

Arj,

I am familiar with the program, list out your questions and I can answer them or point you to someone who can.

Thanks, I believe the program is Inspire 4.0. What do each of those 5 categories I mentioned above do? There are settings for each one from 0 t0 4. In each category , what will that either enhance or retard ? For instance, the first one "Quiet" what exactly does it do? and what differences it would make from the setting of 0 compared to 4 ? There are 4 more also, "Wind" ," Machine Noise" Speech in Noise" "Noise". Thanks if you can explain this.

I think those are adjustments to the place where you happen to be arj, to make that hearing aid work better when you're in such areas.

Ya Thanks Savvyeyty, I know that they are used to help me hear better in certain places. I`m trying to find out what each one`s specific purpose is and for what area, and how the different settings will affect those areas. They make a big difference and if I knew a little more about them I think it would help a lot for my dispenser to adjust them.

I have found the S Series to be good aids. My primary experience with them is with the RICs Open fit receiver in the canals
