Beethoven is said to have overcome his deafness by attaching a rod to his piano and clenching it between his teeth, enabling the musical vibrations to travel through his jawbone to his inner ear. Next year, a similar but less unwieldy approach might restore hearing to people with a common form of deafness.

Interesting huh! a little experimentation and curiousness, I hope that the testing stages will be successful, which will enable the hearing impaired individuals be able to use it.

This is really interesting, but I was wondering what kind of rod do they attach to the teeth? Is it convenient for the user too?

I have read about this tooth mounted rods and I have not seen one yet. Is it really practical to use it? What do you think?

I don't know, maybe for those users. But I think that these tooth mounted rods can be annoying when wearing it. Can you guys provide a picture of how it really looks like?

I have done a little research about this tooth mounted hearing aids and I find them to be convenient for the user. To those people who have not seen one here's a link for you.

I think that to be able to have this kind of hearing aid you should be a sing sided deaf. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is.

I believe you are correct Hutch, I have seen these kinds of hearing aids once. I think that these can be worn by a single sided deaf person.

Does this tooth mounted hearing aids have disposable ones or does it come with batteries too?

I think it has disposable ones. My friend was wearing this tooth mounted rods for a long time now and I didn't noticed them because it was behind his teeth.
